Dear Ermis,
I have significant news. I’ve devoted myself to probing the Dark as of late and think I have found a way through: it seems to respond to very specific situations in a perfectly consistent way.
Finding all the related properties is daunting, but let’s say you know how many open cupboards there are in the building and how many red beads there are in a sac you’re holding, well, I could predict with a so far 100% success rate which of two lightbulbs will go out when we let the Dark choose. The fascinating thing is that this property works in reverse: let’s say you knew how many cupboards to close, well you could always make sure the Dark went left rather than right.
I’ve attached all the details for you to check.
It seems even the Dark, what we thought to be an embodiment of entropy, is in fact perfectly determined if you know by what. The key will be being able to derive these relationships backwards from the desired result without all the copious trial and error required to understand even the simple patterns I’ve figured out so far. If we can do that, we might have a chance at stopping all this.
My astronomer friends say distant stars have disappeared; at this point I would be a bad at my job if I did not think it related.
On a truly unrelated note, I know we are far apart, but I’d like to see you again in person if it’s possible. When suits?
Yours,
Zakia
